Finances After OOTP 26

For reasons known only to them, in v26, OOTP recalculated (or reinvented, since I don’t know whether they were more historically accurate before the change or after it) some of its historical financial figures, specifically the National and Local Media Contracts, Merchandising Revenue, typical player salaries (according to player quality), and minimum major league salaries.

The changes OOTP made in v26 set us back about 8-9 years, financially. So rather than take that giant step backwards, we instead opted to “freeze” our financial environment for eight years and let OOTP catch up to us. It will take until 1982 for us to be back on their schedule (assuming they don’t make massive changes to the financial system again in OOTP 27, or 28, etc.).

At that point (the 1982-1983 offseason), I will re-check the box that says “Import adjusted financial settings after each year (League Settings > Options). That will “unfreeze” our financial environment, and the media contracts and typical player salaries will start going up every year, like they’re supposed to.

We will be static in the following categories between now and 1982:

National Media Contract Baseline: $450,000
Local Media Contract Baseline: $700,000
Merchandising Revenue Baseline: $250,000
Cash Maximum: $130,000

Super Star Quality Player Typical Salary: $520,000
Star Quality Player Typical Salary: $400,000
Good Quality Player Typical Salary: $314,000
Above Avg Quality Player Typical Salary: $238,000
Average Quality Player Typical Salary: $180,000
Below Avg Quality Player Typical Salary: $136,000
Fair Quality Player Typical Salary: $77,000
Poor Quality Player Typical Salary: $40,200
Minimum Player Salary: $27,800
