Season Possibly Over for Oscar Contreras
Sunday, April 4th , 1965
The doctors have spoken and Oscar Contreras of the Houston Drillers didn't like what he heard. The 25-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Contreras sustained his season-ending injury during the Twin Cities Northmen game yesterday at Spring Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Houston medical staff reported Contreras had ligament damage in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 13-14 months.
