Pittsburgh Blanked by Frederick, 3-0
Sunday, April 18th , 1965
Ed Frederick was throwing strikes early and getting ahead in the count, his manager said after the Washington Rough Riders hurler tossed a 6-hit, complete game shutout against the Pittsburgh Industrials.
"I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Frederick. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings."
Frederick walked 3 and struck out 4 in the 3-0 victory.
