San Diego, Pittsburgh Close Deal Tuesday, April 11th , 1967 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Captains announced today the acquisition of 26-year old RHP Woody Wilson from the Pittsburgh Industrials in exchange for a 4th round draft pick. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Captains, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." Wilson has fashioned a career won-lost record of 12-14. In 209.1 innings he has recorded 126 strikeouts and put up a 5.46 ERA while earning 12 saves. |
