Prentice Guns Down Traders
Monday, May 25th , 1959
It wasn't easy but the Kansas City Bulls made it look that way.
Starter Danny Prentice shut out the Chicago Traders despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Kansas City Bulls cruised to victory, 10-0. Prentice allowed only 2 hits and rang up 4 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
This year Prentice has a 2-5 record with a 5.55 ERA.
