More Woes For Knickerbockers John Warlick
Monday, May 23rd, 1949
The New York Knickerbockers will have to do without second baseman John Warlick even longer than expected. Team doctors say that Warlick's recovery from a sore knee has not gone well and more time will be needed to treat it successfully. The Knickerbockers trainer indicated it would be at least one week before they would consider activating Warlick.

This season Warlick has hit at a .341 clip with 19 RBIs, 6 home runs and 26 runs scored. He has played in 32 games.
