Cooper Hurls Toronto to Shutout Victory

Gomer Cooper of the Toronto Hurons put the clamps on the opposition and held the New York Empires scoreless in a 1-hit whitewash.

"He's got some good stuff, but we should have done better than that," said New York skipper Philipe Yazzie after the 3-0 loss.

Cooper was on target most of the game and finished with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks.
