DeForest Shuts Out Bulls, 5-0 Thursday, August 22nd, 1957 In an outstanding mound performance, Pittsburgh Industrials starter Sid DeForest fired a complete-game shutout against the Kansas City Bulls at Allegheny Field today. DeForest was the key to the Industrials's 5-0 win. The 32-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 5 hits and no walks he allowed. "5 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." In 8 starts this season DeForest has notched a 2-3 record and a 4.83 ERA.
