Monday, June 6th , 1966
22-year-old Tom Crowell sent shock waves through Major League Baseball last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the National Baseball League Player of the Week Award.

A newcomer to the league, Crowell made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .542 average, 13 hits in 24 at-bats, 2 home runs and 4 RBI.

Where the Cleveland Bobcats center fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Crowell certainly made his mark last week.

Crowell's current batting average stands at .297 and he has chalked up 6 home runs and 19 RBIs.
