Madsen Stands Out in Baltimore Shutout
Saturday, June 16th , 1962
All went well for Allen Madsen of the Baltimore Lords as he pitched his team to a 1-0 shutout victory over the Los Angeles Pobladores, limiting them to 5 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Madsen on the day.

"Allen's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Lords manager Jordan Wells. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."

In the contest, the Baltimore left-hander rang up 3 and surrendered 2 walks.

"He didn't give us any second chances," said Pobladores manager Kurt Peterson. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."

Thus far this season Madsen has posted a 6-4 record, started 13 games, struck out 44 batters in 97.1 innings and compiled a 3.51 ERA.
