San Francisco's Osborn ABL Star of the Week Monday, August 17th , 1964 In the twilight of his career, 42-year-old Harry Osborn of San Francisco recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the American Baseball League Player of the Week Award. "I've been playing since I was a kid," Osborn told reporters, "but you're never too old to feel the thrill of success." Osborn outpaced the rest of the league's hitters last week, reeling off 12 hits in 26 at-bats, 3 home runs, and 7 RBIs to stake his claim to the award. Currently Osborn is batting .279 with 8 home runs and 26 RBIs. |
