Players-Only Meeting 'Didn't Work': Purter
Thursday, July 5th , 1962
Willie Purter of the Twin Cities Northmen said a recent players-only meeting held by Lou Poundstone "didn't work" and may have been more of a distraction than anything.

"We know we're not playing good baseball right now, we don't need to hear it from one of the players," he said. "I know Poundstone means well, but I think there are probably some guys who are more upset now than they were before we had that meeting."
