Habitants White Lost for Year
Thursday, May 1st , 1958
The doctors have spoken and Rick White of the Montreal Habitants didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. White sustained his season-ending injury during the Detroit Wolverines game yesterday at Wolverine Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Montreal medical staff reported White had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9 months.

For the year White has collected no saves in 7 relief appearances. He has also notched 7 strikeouts and 6 walks in 9 innings while registering a 7.00 ERA and a 2-1 won-lost record.
