Peters Named ABL Royal Ricketts Award Winner Thursday, October 21st , 1965 Bobby Peters of the Chicago Hawks outdid his pitching peers this year and has been honored with the 1965 American Baseball League Royal Ricketts Award. During his remarkable year Peters posted a 15-8 record in 32 starts. In 255.2 innings he yielded 182 hits and 61 walks while striking out 250 and compiling a fine 2.29 ERA. Nate Frampton of the New York Empires finished second in voting, while John Pardoe of the Baltimore Lords finished third. |
