Jordan, Northmen Shut Out Drillers, 2-0
Thursday, September 15th , 1960
The Twin Cities Northmen did little to support starter Woody Jordan against the Houston Drillers, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Drillers, striking out 9 and surrendering 2 hits. The performance from Jordan allowed Twin Cities to escape with the 2-0 win despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said 'Woody, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Jordan told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
This year Jordan has compiled a 10-13 record with a 3.94 ERA in 30 starts.
