Riddle NBL's #1 Pitcher in May Tuesday, June 1st, 1954 Bill Riddle's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 5-0 in May, the 33-year-old Pittsburgh hurler has been named National Baseball League Pitcher of the Month. He fanned 17 in 48 innings, logged an ERA of 1.50 and allowed opponents to hit .197 against him. Riddle has made 6 starts so far this year and put up a 5-0 won-lost record with a 1.44 ERA. In 50 innings he has allowed 35 hits, walked 17 and struck out 17. |
