Bell Takes Charge, Blanks Montreal, 6-0

Jimmy Bell had an impressive outing at Queens Field today, hurling the New York Empires to a 6-0 shutout victory over the Montreal Habitants.
"He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Montreal skipper John Trausch said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders."
On the day, the left-handed Bell yielded 2 hits and tallied 8 strikeouts with 1 walk.
