Graham Records 2-0 Shutout Against Chicago
Tuesday, July 25th , 1961
Washington Rough Riders starter Pat Graham really did a number on the Chicago Traders today, shutting them out 2-0 on 6 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 2 walks and had 8 strikeouts.
"We didn't have good at-bats," said Chicago manager Joe Placeholder. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Graham."
To this point in the season, Graham shows a 4-9 record, 14 starts, 96 innings, 82 strikeouts and a 3.28 ERA.
