Traders, Bobcats Confirm Deal Monday, July 31st , 1961 Chicago and Cleveland announced today in a joint press conference that 19-year old minor league SS Cliff Reynolds will be going to the Bobcats in exchange for 24-year old minor league RHP Jerry Gearhart and 19-year old minor league RHP Steve Eaton. "It'll be exciting to join a new organization," one player said. "Some of us could use a fresh start." The players have each passed physicals and are expected to report by day's end. For the season Gearhart is 1-and-0 with no saves and a 3.38 ERA. He has given up 10 hits in 10.2 innings with 6 strikeouts. |
