Veteran Kappen Re-ups in New York Wednesday, May 27th , 1964 New York fans celebrated as word of a signing became reality. Bob Kappen won't be pulling up stakes anytime soon, as he has signed a 2-year extension at a pay rate of $150,000 per annum. Since he is widely seen as an integral part of the club, New York officials had to keep Kappen from jumping ship. This year Kappen has hit at a .238 clip with 35 hits, 8 home runs, 13 RBIs and 20 runs scored. |
