Cleveland's Bacon Reaches 2000 Hits Tuesday, June 10th , 1958 Dave Bacon reached the 2000-hit milestone this afternoon at Lakefront Stadium. The 39-year-old Bobcats first baseman went 2-for-4 in a losing effort in the Cleveland 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Milwaukee Dairymen.
