Myers Thwarts Pittsburgh, 2-0
Thursday, July 12th, 1956
The Dallas Wranglers did little to support starter Mike Myers against the Pittsburgh Industrials, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Industrials, striking out 3 and surrendering 3 hits. The performance from Myers allowed Dallas to escape with the 2-0 win despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said 'Mike, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Myers told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
This year Myers has posted a 10-10 mark in 21 starts and has a 3.04 ERA.
