DeLaura Brilliant, Fans 17 Tuesday, July 24th , 1962 Toledo Mud Hens starter Tommy DeLaura brought his best stuff to Toledo OH minor league park today against the Des Moines Demons, striking out 17 batters in his club's 6-1 victory. In a strong performance, the 25-year-old DeLaura gave up 6 hits in his 9 innings of work and issued 1 walk. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my changeup was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." This season DeLaura has been credited with no saves.
