Benedict Blisters Indianapolis Saturday, July 28th , 1962 Ralph Benedict was on fire today and sparked his club to a 13-5 victory over the Hoosiers. The Toledo shortstop was a tough out and went 5-for-6 against Indianapolis in a fine hitting display. "I got my pitches and I connected. They all found the right holes on the diamond. Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody and some days they fall in." Ralph Benedict struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 8th. So far on the season Benedict is hitting .312 with 5 home runs, 24 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has 34 hits and played in 29 games. |
