EBL Player of the Week, Garcia of Des Moines Monday, August 20th , 1962 Steve Garcia demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the Eastern Baseball League Player of the Week Award. The Des Moines center fielder wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .429 average (12-for-28) with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. So far this season Garcia is batting .277 with 30 home runs. |
