Leavitt Sharp in 2-0 Shutout Wednesday, August 29th , 1962 The Buffalo Beavers struggled at the plate today against Hoosiers hurler Lou Leavitt, who shackled them on 5 hits while hurling a complete game 2-0 shutout. "What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Beavers skipper in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow." Leavitt finished the game with 4 strikeouts and 1 walk in an excellent mound performance. "He pitched real well," Indianapolis manager said. "Lou made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively." |
