Eastern Baseball League Announces Top Starter Saturday, September 1st , 1962 Mark Haney of Rochester had an award-winning August as he took home the Eastern Baseball League Pitcher of the Month award. "He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Haney's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in August except for Mark." Haney was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 3-1 record in 5 starts. He struck out 14 batters in 41.1 innings and kept opponents to a .242 batting average. This year Haney has posted a 4-3 mark in 10 starts and has a 2.59 ERA. |
