Columbus Downs Louisville as Halifax Tosses 2-0 Shutout Sunday, July 9th , 1961 It wasn't easy but Mickey Halifax made it look that way. Halifax silenced the Louisville Colonels, 2-0, in a Columbus Jets triumph at Louisville KY minor league park today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Halifax said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 3 walks and 1 hit. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." So far this year Halifax has compiled a 11-9 record with a 3.72 ERA. |
