Oilers Messinger Named SBL's #1 Player

The Southern Baseball League has selected its Player of the Week. The honor went to Bob Messinger, first baseman of the Oklahoma City Oilers.
In a standout performance, he lit up the league with a .429 average to win the award. Messinger went 9-for-21 for the week, totaled 2 home runs with 8 RBIs and scored 6 times.
Thus far this season Messinger is hitting .319 with 4 home runs, 17 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 22 hits in 69 at-bats and has played in 18 games.
