Billy Reed Blanks Oklahoma City, 8-0
Wednesday, August 15th , 1962
Today was Billy Reed's turn in the rotation for the Birmingham Barons and he made the most of it, shutting out the Oklahoma City Oilers on 3 hits.
The 24-year-old right-hander led the Barons to an easy 8-0 victory, allowing 3 walks and tallying 8 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," Oklahoma City manager said. "Reed certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
