Danvers Garners SBL #1 Pitcher Award Saturday, September 1st , 1962 It is a rare occurrence, but it happened in August. A reliever, Glenn Danvers, has been named the Pitcher of the Month in the Southern Baseball League. In August, the Richmond relief specialist stood out with 6 saves in 13 relief appearances, a 2-0 won-lost mark and 0.84 ERA. He worked 21.1 innings, allowed 12 hits, struck out 13 and walked 8. Season-to-date in 49 relief appearances Danvers has rung up 13 saves. He has 50 strikeouts and 37 walks in 79.2 innings while registering a 2.37 ERA and a 7-0 won-lost record. Opposing teams have hit .187 against him. |
