Carlin Named SBL Pitcher of the Year Award Winner

This past season Jim Carlin put on quite a show in the Southern Baseball League. In 37 starts he posted a 17-6 record for Atlanta to capture the 1962 Pitcher of the Year Award.

In 37 starts and 228.2 innings, Carlin yielded 188 hits, holding the opposition to a .222 average. He chalked up 166 strikeouts and posted a 3.19 ERA.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Greg Peterson of the Jacksonville Suns finished second in voting, while Larry Slider of the Atlanta Governors finished third.
