Roses Pitching Ravaged by Page
Saturday, June 16th , 1962
Rich Page of the Mounties was unstoppable in today's 4-3 victory over the Portland Roses at Vancouver BC minor league park. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Vancouver center fielder after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will."
Rich Page singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Page is hitting .275 this season with 2 home runs, 16 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 66 hits in 240 at-bats.
