Catto Stops Portland Cold, 2-0
Friday, July 20th , 1962
Salt Lake City Waders hurler Bruce Catto was stingy with runs in his latest outing against the Portland Roses, shutting them out 2-0 on 3 hits.

"Bruce was very aggressive tonight," Salt Lake City manager said. "He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence."

Through 9 innings, Catto tallied 5 strikeouts and allowed 3 walks.

"He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well," losing manager said. "Catto has a sneaky fastball, and whatever that off-speed pitch was, it was keeping our timing off."

Thus far this season Catto has compiled a 13-6 record, made no relief appearances with no saves, hurling 149.1 innings and striking out 113. He has held the opposition to a .240 batting average with a 3.62 ERA.
