Dave Welsh Captures WBL Award Monday, July 30th , 1962 Last week Dave Welsh was the toast of Phoenix and the talk of the Western Baseball League -- this week he's the WBL Player of the Week. The standout catcher sewed up the award with his .545 average (12-for-22), 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 4 runs. So far this year Welsh is hitting .262 with 13 home runs. |
