Quincy Shut Out by Placeholder Friday, July 13th , 1962 Double A Placeholder of the Lincoln Links was masterful today, pitching a 4-hit shutout, 1-0, against the Quincy Gems. By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by Lincoln manager . "It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too." Placeholder had 4 strikeouts and 2 walks in the outing. To date this year Placeholder has compiled a 8-3 mark with a 4.21 ERA in 11 starts. |
