Eddie Ellison of the Omaha Bulls had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Most Valuable Player Award for 1962.

The 22-year-old catcher put up a .290 average and a .396 on-base percentage, piling up 126 hits, 22 doubles, 3 triples, 18 home runs, 72 RBIs and 77 runs scored.

He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Bill Tomlin of the Quincy Gems finished second in voting, while Marty Duvall of the Decatur Commodores finished third.
