GCL's #1 Player is Rains Monday, August 13th , 1962 This Week's premier pitcher is Don Rains of Pensacola -- he is also the best player in the league. He shackled Gulf Coast Baseball League hitters all last week and claimed the Player of the Week honor. He put up a 2-0 mark with 8 strikeouts, 4 walks in 12 innings, and a 0.75 ERA. This season Rains has a 6-1 record with a 1.48 ERA. |
