1962 GCL Pitcher of the Year Award Chosen Wednesday, September 5th , 1962 Jackie Richardson was overpowering this season for the St. Petersburg Saints and earned the 1962 Gulf Coast Baseball League Pitcher of the Year Award for his efforts. In a standout year he went 12-10 in 34 starts with 166 strikeouts in 211.2 innings and a 2.55 ERA. He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Don Rains of the Pensacola Terriers finished second in voting, while Steve Gilmore of the Sarasota Anglers finished third.
