Razor-Sharp Gilmore Blanks Duluth

The Duluth Northmen met their match today in Aberdeen hurler Barry Gilmore. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 1-hit shutout.
"He just worked us over," Duluth skipper said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat."
In the 4-0 victory, Gilmore whiffed 7 and gave up 3 walks.
This season Gilmore has a 5-9 mark in 20 starts with a 2.99 ERA. He has given up 105 hits in 141.2 innings, struck out 89 and issued 72 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .210 batting average against him.
