Northern Baseball League Selects #1 Starter in July Wednesday, August 1st , 1962 July's best hurler was Single A Placeholder of Winnipeg. He overwhelmed NBL hitters all month long and captured the Pitcher of the Month award as he collected a 5-0 record in 6 starts. The 20-year-old Placeholder added 19 strikeouts in 42.2 innings and 17 walks to his season record and compiled a 1.90 ERA. Other clubs hit .181 against him. On the year Placeholder has compiled a 5-6 mark with a 3.63 ERA. |
