McCray Selected Top Player Monday, August 13th , 1962 Speak softly and carry a big stick and you could win the Northern Baseball League Player of the Week Award just like Mike McCray. He really dazzled on the diamond this week with a .407 average to take home the trophy. The Winnipeg center fielder went 11-for-27, drove in 0 runs, scored 6 times and hit no home runs.
