Barry Gilmore of the Aberdeen Pheasants had a fine 10-13 season in 1962 and today claimed the Northern Baseball League Pitcher of the Year Award.

He started 30 times, threw 221 innings while collecting 151 strikeouts and fashioned a 2.85 ERA. Gilmore allowed only 165 hits, 108 walks and a .213 opponents' batting average.

He ended up tied with Bill Swain with 33 total votes and 33 first place votes.
