Kermit McDaniel Gets MVP Trophy Thursday, September 6th , 1962 Kermit McDaniel really stood out with the bat in the Big Sky Baseball League this year as he put together a .362 batting average. Today he was named the winner of the coveted 1962 Most Valuable Player Award. He hit his way to an award-winning season with these stats: 168 hits, 16 home runs, 65 RBIs and 92 runs scored.
