BSL Best Hitter Trophy Goes to Murphy Friday, September 1st , 1961 When Dennis Murphy stepped up to the plate in August he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Big Sky Baseball League Batter of the Month award. The young Great Falls shortstop posted a .286 batting average with no home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 12 runs. Murphy also worked pitchers for 9 walks to post a .357 on-base percentage. For his 120-game career Murphy has hit .298 with 151 hits, 47 RBIs, and no home runs. |
