The 1961 Big Sky Baseball League Most Valuable Player Award has been picked and the honor went to the Great Falls Electrics hitting machine, Dennis Murphy. He compiled a .298 batting average with 151 hits, 15 doubles, no triples and no home runs, along with 47 RBIs and 61 runs scored.

He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Tom Leighton of the Great Falls Electrics finished second in voting, while Frank Frazier of the Great Falls Electrics finished third.
