League Gives Unknown 4-Game Suspension Sunday, May 20th , 1962 Idaho Falls's Jim Unknown made contact with the home plate umpire during a dispute in the game with the Rough Riders yesterday and he will have to pay for it. Unknown violently disagreed when he was called out on strikes. During the intense discussion he bumped chests with the umpire and was immediately tossed out of the game. Today the league commissioner gave him a 4-game suspension. Still steamed by it, Unknown told BNN, "I think the ump bumped me and he is the one who should be suspended. I'm going to appeal this sucker." |
