Big Bat Pays Off, Lawrence Player of the Week Monday, August 20th , 1962 It was an exceptional week for Joe Lawrence of the Burlington Bees. First he beat the devil out of the ball, hitting .476 and as you would expect, he was voted the Player of the Week in the Iowa Baseball League. Last week Lawrence went 10-for-21, notched 1 home run and 5 RBIs and scored 2 runs. All in all, a very good week for him. Lawrence is presently batting .344 with 27 home runs, 100 runs scored and 83 RBIs. His OBP is .422. |
