Iowa Baseball League Announces #1 Starter Saturday, September 1st , 1962 Steve Eaton of the Davenport Quads outdistanced his peers on the mound this month. He fashioned a fine 2-2 won-lost mark and 1.69 ERA in 5 starts to get the Iowa Baseball League Pitcher of the Month honors. Eaton had a very impressive August, finishing with 42 strikeouts in 42.2 innings and holding opposing hitters to a .239 average. In his career Eaton has fanned 129 batters and walked 67 in 136 innings of work. His lifetime won-lost record is 9 victories and 6 defeats with a 3.04 ERA and opposing hitters have compiled a .237 against him. |
