Groh's Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Wednesday, June 27th , 1962 The Salem Senators stopped the Yakima Harvesters today 3-2 and Billy Groh collected a base hit yet again. The Salem right fielder finished with 1 hit to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20. "I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Groh told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Billy Groh flied out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 10th. Thus far this year Groh is batting .335 with 13 home runs, 38 RBIs and 58 runs scored. |
